Sharisa Whatley

Atlanta, Georgia based actress is a founding member of one of Atlanta’s emerging theaters, Premier Acting Crew. Sharisa re-enacts Joyce’s arrest at age twenty. She began her professional acting career as a standout member of the powerful theater troupe Freddie Hendricks Youth Ensemble of Atlanta (YEA).

Her works expands the globe including performances in Amsterdam with Made in da Shade, Rotterdam with Olafhanklejik Toneel, and Soweto, South Africa in the Windybrow Arts Festival. Regionally Whatley has Kevin Kline awarded works at the St. Louis Black Rep. in St. Louis, Mo, groundbreaking performances at the National Black Theater Festival in North Carolina, an astounding performance at Carpetbag Theater Youth Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee and Suzi Bass awarded work in Atlanta, Georgia. Whatley is also making her mark as a playwright having written and produced a children’s theater piece Jeremy and the Lie.
